Age of Advocacy is a program designed to foster a sisterhood grounded in academic achievement and advocacy. We serve young women of color in the seventh and eighth grades and are focusing our programming towards Providence, RI youth, through virtual programming. Our curriculum focuses on teaching the young women in our program introductory research skills, graphic design, and advocacy in all its forms. Some examples of our workshops include practice research assignments, basic design, and personal and leadership development. Our goal is to have our participants leave Age of Advocacy with a deeper understanding of how they can make an impact in their community. We want young women to leave the program with the ability to confidently create spaces for themselves in high school and beyond.
